Handmade Card - Solemnization

Salam. ello friends~!!♥

Remember my previous entry on my wedding monogram? Yes, I used my wedding monogram in the invitation cards for my solemnization. And I was DIY-ing them! I'm so sorry to those who didn't get the card ya.. Because of time consuming, it was very limited to 15 friends only! Oh my.. I felt a bit upset because I did not manage to spread the cards to all my friends. The cards was given to my close friends only. Apology me. :(

OK. Back to the topic. Let's see the pics of my handmade invitation card for my solemnization ya.. Enjoy~!!

About Monograms

Hmm.. today i wanna talk about MONOGRAM. What is monogram ya..?? I know, some of us knew what monogram is. But, there are people who don't know. Let's assume everyone don't know. So that we can discuss from basic... kehh..?? ;)

A monogram is a motif made by overlapping or combining two or more letters or other graphemes to form one symbol. Monograms are often made by combining the initials of an individual or a company, used as recognizable symbols or logos. A series of uncombined initials is properly referred to as a cypher and is not a monogram. (source: wikipedia)

In other words, a monogram is an image created by combining two or more characters and graphical symbols to create a new unique image. Which means, "gabungan dua atau lebih huruf dan grafik untuk menjadikan ia satu simbol yang unik".

Previously, monograms were used by craftsmen and artists to be used as signatures on art, sculptures and furniture but nowadays it is popular use by marrying couples to create a monogram from their initials. Then, the monogram is being used on wedding stationary and other details around the wedding. (e.g: Invitation Cards, Save the Date Cards, Thank you tags and other wedding paper stuff)

Let me show one example of the monograms ya.. (see below):

This is one example of monograms. Two letters are combined together and tadaaa.. a monogram created! heheee.. ;) I will show more monograms later ya..?? OK, i think enough la kot my explanation about monogram ni kann..?? Later we'll talk more about it k..?? Before i'm signing off, i would like to share the monogram that i've created to be included in the invitation cards for my solemnization last February.. Enjoy~!! :) and.. Lurve u~!! ♥

Oppss.. salam. ello friends~!! ♥

So sorry.. I'm so hepi and excited! heheee.. Pheww~!! Finally, i manage to create a blog writing on my passion on creating and designing the handmade cards and monograms. Hmm.. my very-own blog is out! Yeay~!! Well, i lurve creating and designing handmade cards since high school. But.. I have left my passionate on doing this for quite some time. Until.. last January (2010) when i was crazily preparing for my wedding.. i do not have choice but to DIY the invitation cards for my solemnization due to some limitation yg xbole nak dielakkan. uhuk uhuk.. so sad kan..?? But it's OK.. i really had fun and learnt so many things.. one of them is.. 'MONOGRAMS'.. Ohh.. i started to love designing the monograms and i miss doing those things! So lepas ni nak stat balik buat handmade cards and monograms! Wish me all the best ya.. Lurve u~!! ♥
